Benjamin Aranda
Benjamin is founder of Aranda\Lasch, a New York and Tucson-based design studio designing buildings, installations and furniture. Recognition includes the United States Artists Award, Young Architects Award, Design Vanguard Award, AD Innovators, and the Architectural League Emerging Voices Award. Their early projects are the subject of the books Tooling from Princeton Architectural Press and more recently Trace Elements from Columbia Books on Architecture and the City. Aranda\Lasch has exhibited internationally in galleries, museums, design fairs and biennials. Their work is part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York.
Aranda\Lasch designs artworks, installations, and buildings through a deep investigation of structure and materials. Recognition includes the United States Artists Award, Young Architects Award, Design Vanguard Award, AD Innovators, and the Architectural League Emerging Voices Award. Their early projects are the subject of the best-selling architecture book, Pamphlet Architecture 27: Tooling and the more recent publication, Trace Elements. Aranda\Lasch has exhibited internationally in galleries, museums, and design fairs. They were included in the 2015 and 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial as well as the 2008 and 2010 Venice Biennale of Architecture. Their work is part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York. Benjamin Aranda is currently Associate Professor at Cooper Union. Chris Lasch is president of The School of Architecture (TSOA) in Arizona.
