      MCAD welcomes Tess Paulose to the MCAD Board! Tes MCAD welcomes Tess Paulose to the MCAD Board!

Tess Paulose is a designer /manager at Stantec’s Miami office, and believes in the continued pursuit of finding design solutions to better the built environment. Aside from working on multiple high-end residential projects within the past 7 years at Stantec, Tess is one of the editors for the all-office monthly newsletter, which recognizes and acknowledges staff’s achievements, and is also an active member of  the office Community Engagement group, which promotes various volunteer opportunities within the community. When Tess isn’t drafting out details or storyboards, she’s actively sketching and participates in the annual “Inktober” 31-day ink challenge.

The Miami Center for Architecture & Design is the place for everyone interested in design and the built environment, with community meeting space and educational programs to enhance public appreciation for architecture and design.

      MCAD welcomes Elizabeth Wheaton to the MCAD Board! MCAD welcomes Elizabeth Wheaton to the MCAD Board!

Elizabeth Wheaton is Director, Partnerships and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) with Corvias Infrastructure Solutions. Prior to this position, Elizabeth spent 13.5 years with the City of Miami Beach serving in the Public Works Department, Building Department, and the Office of the Mayor and Commission. In 2016, the Environment & Sustainability Department was created, and Elizabeth was appointed as the director. Under Elizabeth's leadership, the Environment & Sustainability Department focused on climate change mitigation, and adaptation through the lens of sustainability, environmental resources management, and urban forestry.

Elizabeth graduated from University of Miami, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science with a Master’s in Marine Affairs and Policy. Elizabeth also has an Executive MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

The Miami Center for Architecture & Design is the place for everyone interested in design and the built environment, with community meeting space and educational programs to enhance public appreciation for architecture and design.

PAWchitecture, brought to you by the Miami Center for Architecture & Design and our partners, The Aventura Mall and the Humane Society of Greater Miami, is a design/build competition of original, one-of-a-kind pet furniture created by professional and student design teams. The built designs will be on display at Aventura Mall during October’s Celebrate Architecture & Design Month. All the homes will be available for silent auction through online bidding with proceeds going to the Greater Miami Humane Society and the Miami Center for Architecture & Design.

TEAMS

Twenty professional team slots and three student team slots are available for the 2022 PAWchitecture Competition and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Student teams must be from DASH or be members of AIAS. Teams shall register online at aiamiami.org
